What’s the investment strategy of the new Fleet Street Letter?

George Soros told an interviewer that the European Union is “on the verge of collapse”. It’s a hell of a time for Charlie Morris to begin his tenure as the investment director of the newest version of the Fleet Street Letter. Merryn got down to nuts and bolts on markets yesterday with Charlie. Click on the image below to watch their discussion. It lasts about nine minutes and covers a dizzying amount of ground.

Merryn Somerset Webb interviews Fleet Street Letter Investment Director Charlie Morris

I’ve spent the last two weeks helping Charlie put the finishing touches on his 2016 investment strategy. That mostly involves me nodding sagely as he explains how the market works. But I’ve made sure all that is correctly spelled, with proper grammar, in the reports that will go to new subscribers.

If you’re a reader of the former version of the Fleet Street Letter, you may be wondering how the new one is different. The biggest difference is that Charlie’s a 17-year City veteran. He’s an experienced investment professional who’s bringing that experience to bear for investors like you.

The other big difference is that Britain finds itself in a much different – and more challenging – geopolitical position than it has in years. The country is deciding whether to stay in an experimental political union based on anti-democratic centralisation. That is bound to have an effect on shares, gilts, and the currency.

Charlie is here to help sort out what all that means for your money. And then, what to do. Starting at the beginning of a bear market is bad luck for him. But I hope it’s good timing for you.
