If you read Exponential Investor, you’ll be familiar with Andrew’s work. Andrew has a unique position on the markets. He has a master's degree in engineering and management – giving him a deep understanding of how key breakthrough technologies work. Readers will be very familiar with how he applies his engineering skills to low-carbon technologies, in energy and transport. With a decades-long history of working on climate and environmental matters, Andrew has published several academic papers in prominent journals. He currently holds an associate position at the prestigious University College London, and is well on the way to obtaining his PhD.

In stark contrast, his “day job” puts him elbow-deep in the UK tech startup scene. He’s both an investor and an advisor – and he's also heavily involved in crowdfunding. He attends more than 20 pitches from startups a week, always looking for solid, growth business. He's noted for his dislike of hype – having learned the ropes of business in traditional, offline firms. Andrew has plans to expand the scope of his work still further – including venture capital and M&A. You might be familiar with Andrew's work with startups from the interview pieces he's done with some of the most exciting firms on the market.
